When we launched HomeOwner Guardian, we had detailed construction workflows for NSW and VIC. QLD and WA followed soon after. But if you were building in South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT, or the Northern Territory, you'd create a project and get... not much.
That changes today. All 8 Australian states and territories now have complete construction stage workflows.
What's Included for Every State
Each state now has:
- 6–8 construction stages from site start through to warranty, with state-specific names and requirements
- Mandatory inspections at each stage (the ones your builder must book before proceeding)
- Required certificates — EICC, plumbing, waterproofing, smoke alarm, termite protection, and your state's final occupancy certificate
- Dodgy builder warnings — state-specific red flags at every stage, referencing your state's regulator and dispute resolution body
- Payment milestones — typical payment percentages at each stage
- Warranty periods — structural and non-structural warranty lengths specific to your state's legislation
